I know personally of quite a few people who have tried the 'quick fixes' - I even met someone for the first time the other day who admitted that she used to go to her gym and stand on the vibrating machine for 10 mins and then go home. Someone else swore black and blue that if they drunk apple cider vinegar every day they would get 'skinny' as they can't be bothered doing any exercise or changing their diet.
Now if you are someone who is happy with where you are at and comfortable and in a good place, then that is awesome! However, If you want more, If you want to feel better, look better, perform better, be a happier person and be healthier, then do NOT go for the quick fixes. The shake diets and the vibrating machines are a load of BS and DO NOT work. All these diets do is make you lose a tonne of weight to begin with and you feel awesome, and then BOOM - once you finish - hello... the weight comes piling back on. You have not taught yourself anything about nutrition and moderation and control and discipline, you have taught yourself nothing and once you go back to eating normal again, it all comes back.
If you have a large weight loss goal, ask yourself this question: How many years of neglect and body abuse have you been putting yourself through? How long have you “let yourself go” for? Years of damage is not going to take days, weeks, or even months, of control to get yourself back to where you were.
There is always going to be temptation. There are always going to be busy weeks. There are always going to be social gatherings. There are always going to be family commitments. There are always going to be excuses.
Really ask yourself this...
- Why do you want to change? What is your motivation?
- How are you feeling now? How do you want to feel? Are you happy?
- Do you have children and want to lead by example?
- What is your plan of attack when dealing with temptation?
- How badly do you want to see and feel changes?
- How are you going to reach your short term goals to ultimately reach your long term goal?
So YOU decide. You choose in your life what is important to you and what is not. And if you are comfortable with the body and life you are in right now, then go you! If you are not - then change it. Just don't do the quick fixes!
