When we feel tired and sluggish it’s hard to stay motivated to exercise or prepare healthy meals – It’s a big roadblock and feels hard to snap out of it sometimes and focus on healthy meals let alone exercise!
Here are some tips that will help kick start that motivation back into life!
Start by eating plenty of nutritious food. Not only will it help your body, it will make you feel better and give you so much more energy. When we eat rubbish, it does nothing for our motivation and energy levels – it usually makes us feel worse! Less energy, less motivated and unhappy. So start by making changes to your food – add in nice green smoothies and lots of veggies and good fats and proteins.
Exercise – I realise when you are feeling sluggish the last thing you feel like doing is exercising, but just do it! Just start with a good walk or something not too strenuous. Exercising will actually give you energy and lift your mood by releasing all those good endorphins!
Cut back on coffee and alcohol. Alcohol does nothing good for your body and most people don’t drink just ‘moderately’. Coffee can add to stress and anxiety as well. I’m not saying don’t drink coffee at all – just cut it back to no more than 2 cups per day maximum!
Get outside in the sunshine. Get some vitamin D – Vitamin D is super important for health. Walking barefoot on the beach or going for a bush walk is really good for you, so get some fresh air, get outside and enjoy the natural sunlight!
Just start with little things, once the small changes start taking place, you will feel more motivated to take on bigger challenges and do more to make you feel even better!
