I was reading someones post today and it was about how much of a s**t year they've had this year, and about how they have felt that everything has gone wrong for them etc etc etc and how they cannot wait for 2019 to come. Wishing the rest of the year away.
I also know personally of quite a few friends who are or have gone through marriage break ups, friends who have family members who have died or have had cancer and are still going through that journey. There is always something right - life is always going to throw us curve balls and challenge us. And I by no means intend to put anyone down who reacts or responds to things in a certain way or deals with things in their own way - we are all different. That is what makes us so special.
BUT I couldn't help but feel frustration and also a love for the one wishing the year away. I get it, I understand they've had a rough time and they are allowed to own those feelings, but I also know how precious life is. I also know how if you focus on the bad - that's what life gives you. You need to focus on what is GOOD. What you CAN do rather than what you CAN'T do. What is the silver lining?
I know I go on about this mindset stuff quite a bit - but I have been on quite a bit of a journey myself over the last 5 years and 2018 for me, has been a year where I have put a lot of practice into mindset more than ever before. Be that listening to podcasts EVERY DAY! Watching YOU TUBE inspiration from Tony Robins while cooking dinner or another influential person I admire - EVERY DAY! Journalling - nearly every day ;) But I really am trying to put in the work - I am not perfect by any means and I have s**t days and moments too. But what I have realised and noticed is that by subconsciously putting this great stuff into my brain EVERY DAY - I naturally now am drawn to the good and learning so so much more about myself than I ever have before.
And it is because of CONSISTENT ACTION that this is slowly turning for me. It's not something you do 'once in a while'. You don't just exercise 'once in a while' and eat good healthy foods to fuel your body 'once in a while' and expect results do you? Because that is crazy!
I too have been on my own journey of dealing with cancer. It was the time in my life where I was the most strongest and powerful I have ever been! (If you want to know that story, let me know and I'll share it) x
My journey first started when I found MAX International College of Fitness - This is where I started to learn and started to grow from the most amazing beautiful people! This was life changing and just the beginning. I have had ups and downs and thoughts of giving up and been through the whole shabang, but it's the consistent actions, and the determination, and the drive to be better and do better and the work that I am putting into myself that allows me to feel and see things the way I do.
So don't wish the year away, you all know how precious you are and how precious life is and how lucky we are. Think about all the blessings in your life and what you are grateful for, think about how much you've achieved and what your body CAN do and is capable of. Yep have a bad moment or day or whatever, but don't sit in that space. Shift it, do something about it and move on. Trust me, when you put in the effort and the work, the changes DO happen.
