Stress! It's a killer! And when you are stressed it makes it harder to lose weight.
Here are some simple ideas on some stress busters and ways to stress less. Try to take just 10 minutes each day to just REST and give your body a break.
Write down 5 things every day you are grateful for - just try this!
- Get 8 hours of sleep a night
- Cut out or cut back alcohol, refined salt, sugar, soft drinks and coffee
- Have a nice aromatherapy bath
- Go for a walk! Better still, take a dog for a walk! Borrow a friends if you have too :)
- Book in a massage
- Turn your phone off for an hour
- Enjoy the sunshine for 15-30 mins a day (vit d)
- Go meet up with your bestie
- Give yourself permission to rest. If your body is telling you it's tired, then listen to it. Just be. By yourself. Breathe and rest.
Look at who you surround yourself with. Are the people in your life supporting you and encouraging you and do they make you happy? Or is it the opposite? If it's the opposite you need to do something about it! In order to be happy and in order to be able to give yourself your very best version of you to your friends, your family, your kids, your partner, you need to first and foremost be looking after the most important person - and that is YOURSELF! Never ever let anyone stop you from living a happy, healthy life. Without health - and yes that includes stress which damages our health, you have nothing. So remember - YOU first!
If you are completely honest with yourself and you are eating a whole foods, clean healthy diet, and doing the right exercise, and you still are not losing weight, I would get to the doctor for some blood tests and make sure your thyroid and everything is all ok. Then I would get to a great naturopath or nutritionist and get the exact right nutritional support for YOU personally. Sometimes one size does not fit all. But you do have to be completely honest with yourself and what you are actually eating and drinking. No-one sneaks into your room when you are asleep and puts chocolate down your throat! The only person consuming is you - so honesty is key. Write a food diary and just see how many little things sneak in that might be stopping you from getting to where you really want to be.
Final words of wisdom..... Only YOU can stop YOU from getting your results. 'Trying' is not the same as 'doing'. At any time you have the power to change things in your life. Be responsible for your life. When you truly love yourself, you will do the things in your life that make you happy. You want your muscles, your heart, your organs and your energy to be at it's very best, so take control of your health and your happiness, eat nourishing food, exercise, and surround yourself with people who will lift you up, not pull you down!
